Büchner Verlag commissioned me for the book cover of “Zusammenleben statt Zusammenrotten”. Author Katja Johanna Eichler sets out to find out which competencies we need to promote in order to achieve an inclusive, new logic of living together. The book describes doundations for a less discriminatory and more inclusive society.
For this illustration, I wanted to capture the critical moment of “looking behind the curtain” and leaving closed spaces. I found the symbolism fitting, since a curtain is a fragile construction of seperation that can be overcome. Shadows of fellow human beings indicate an approach to all people.
